If you couldn’t guess by the name, Kelly Osbourne is the daughter of the legendary Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne. Following in her parents’ footsteps, the protege developed an interest for show business at an early age. Over the years she explored many facets of the industry, including television, film, radio, print media, and even modelling.

Kelly made her professional debut in 2002, after appearing on The Osbournes with the rest of her family. The reality series was a success, and it won the family an Emmy Award, along with multiple other accolades.

Since then, she’s done quite a bit else. Kelly went on to join George Kotsiopoulos and Giuliana Rancic on E!’s Fashion Police, and later appeared on Dancing with the Stars. She is also one of the judges on both Australia’s Got Talent, and Project Runway Junior.
Outside of that, Kelly has taken on a lot of smaller projects simply for the fun of it. For example she lent her voice to Disney’s The 7D, where she voiced the character of Hildy Gloom. Although her popularity has been declining over the years, Kelly is once again making the headlines. But this time, it has nothing to do with the release of a new album or feature film.

Since becoming a prominent figure in show business, Kelly was never known as the “slim girl.” In fact just 7 years ago, she tipped the scales at 210 pounds, which, at her height would classify her as clinically obese. That said, the superstar made a few big changes over the last half-decade or so – shedding more than 70 pounds off of her 5”2’ frame.

Despite her incredible weight loss transformation, Kelly remains extremely humble. During an interview with Self Magazine, the singer-songwriter credited her friends with helping her stay on track:

“I’m lucky because my friends are really supportive. I got the Nike+ FuelBand, and now we’re all in competition with one another. It forces you to work out because you don’t want anyone to see that you didn’t.”

Obviously, the Nike bracelet can’t be credited with Kelly’s 70 some pounds transformation, but it certainly proved itself as a great motivational tool. As far as the signer’s actual weight loss strategy goes, it really just boils down to self-discipline and consistency (I know, easier said than done).

For starters, Osbourne had to change up her diet. Although she never followed a strict meal plan, there were some things that had to go. She cut out soda, simple sugars, processed foods, and some of her favourite desserts. On top of that, the singer started to keep a closer eye on her portions, making sure to stay within her daily recommended calorie goals.

Aside from cleaning up her diet, Osbourne hired a personal trainer and started to hit the gym. Unlike many other female celebs, Osbourne wasn’t afraid to hit the weights. In fact, most of her workouts were centered around resistance training.

In order to speed up the weight loss process, the singer also became very closely acquainted with the treadmill. According to the superstar herself, Osbourne spends an average of 30 minutes doing cardio every single day.

As you can probably tell, her workouts aren’t exactly “intense,” but over time, even the smallest change in activity will accumulate to some pounds dropped. Combining that with a cleaner diet and consistency, the singer managed to drop more than 70 pounds over a period of just 18 months.

Although Osbourne is quite happy with her new figure, the superstar admits that her new life isn’t all sunshine and rainbows:

“I’m the most secure and content I’ve ever been,” Kelly admits. “Though I’m still very self-deprecating: I look in the mirror sometimes and I feel like going back to bed. Everyone has good days, and everyone has bad days.”

As true as that is, Osbourne managed to push through these mental hurdles in order to achieve her ultimate goal. After finally hitting her target weight in 2013, the singer didn’t return back to her old habits. Instead, she pushed even further, permanently changing her lifestyle for the better.

As a result of Kelly’s impressive transformation, many of her fans decided to follow suit and embarked on fitness journeys of their own. For Osbourne, the journey continues, and the 31-year-old is constantly pushing to improve herself in all aspects of life, and physical fitness is just a small part of that transformation.
